March 8, International Women’s Day

As I sit here nursing my baby, I wonder at this, her first Int’l Women’s Day. My heart is full and achy. I believe deeply in the change that is coming to this world, for myself, for my daughter, my mother, my grandmother, my sisters and my brothers. Leaving behind the racism, imperialism, colorism, sexism, ageism, ableism, and all other forms of othering, we rise; instead we turn our attention from greed to gratitude, from fear to inclusion, from anger to a fierce love of peace. Globally and within our families we change from blaming to lifting each other up, from controlling to encouraging, from avoiding to caressing, from casting away to inviting in. There is so much to be done and I don’t know the half or the eight or all but a small part of it but I take courage in knowing that we are all in this together. Each of us in our own small way is taking steps to change the world toward honoring the Divine Feminine, protecting our Mother, the Earth and uniting as one human family. One Love. A love that belongs to all and to none.
We WILL overcome those forces which seek to divide us, to beat us, to brainwash us, and to seduce us with shiny objects in order to rule and control us, or try to. No, it is not possible. We are not slaves and we never were. Our hearts and minds are always free, open to possibility, to change. They may try, as ever through history they have, to subvert the concepts of God, of Love, of Hope but we will not be convinced. We will seek out knowledge for ourselves and for each other.
I will do whatever I can to help my brothers and sisters know the truth of who we really are and the power which is our birthright.
We are born human, deserve dignity, respect, clean water and air.
My neck is aching; I’m tired of being stepped on by crude aggression and ignorant fear. I’m scared but I carry on with Fear as a companion. Fear is nothing to fear, its an alert to danger and indeed we, our planet, our existence is in danger. Humans extinction, not to put too fine a point on it.
We must fight.
Self care and fight again. Do what we can, do what we must, each of us creating that new world, that new paradigm. She’s coming.
